A friendly reminder for the weekend and beyond: breathe, there's no rush!

Just sharing for everybody. I personally meditate every now & then or do NSDR. Since I started this practice, I'm baffled at how anxious/in a rush I used to be about everything.

Examples:

  • Wake up in the morning, be in a rush to take a get ready
  • Be in a rush to book Uber, anxiously looking at my phone
  • Would get done with lunch/dinner in 5-10 mins, sometimes not even appreciating what had been made

It's gotten much better. But I feel this happens with too many of us. Please, just take a moment of calm. Breathe. The world will move with or without you, you need to find your calm.

Have a good one :)

Very well said. I am unfortunately on the opposite side of the spectrum, often anxious.

How did you get better?

I'm not great at it either. But just reduced junk food/smoking/drinking etc. the things that make me get into a very mindless (opp of mindful) behaviour.

But most noticeably, some meditation every now and then helps. And mostly, just reminding yourself to breathe and be calm and think of the situation or task at hand. Not focus on other thigns.

I think I am def weird, I enjoy rushing. There's a train coming on the next platform, I know I don't need to rush but still I'd go blazing.

Thanks for the insight, I can completely relate with this. Is there any guided meditation app that you use or any particular practice you follow?
