No promotions - should I switch?

Context: So I'm a lawyer currently working with the Big4 as a senior consultant in the Business Consulting vertical. I've been here for the last 2.5yrs. I'm due for a promotion to manager this year. However due to multiple people leaving who I used to gel well with along with the fact that of late since the last 8-9 months the team I work for has become too pro work instead of looking into individual welfare has got me very dissatisfied with my work life here. Mind you that I'm given proper recognition for the work I do in terms of awards, retention bonuses etc. have all happened but since the last 3 months, this dissatisfaction has been brewing in me. Although there has been no negative incident which has happened to me directly, I've been informed of many conversations second hand where seniors have been behaving very rudely and in a rash manner with my other team members. All of this led me to thinking that before the going gets tough, I should venture out and look for better opportunities elsewhere. In the midst of my job search, I have received an offer today with a big Indian MNC in the Retail and e-commerce space to join their legal team as a counsel. Now that I have this offer, I am contemplating whether I should go for it as it would mean shifting cities with my wife. My wife is 50% against me shifting as it would mean leaving the Big4 and she keeps telling me that to tough it out and to see this as an opportunity instead of jumping ship as no indian MNC would be able to provide a better experience and exposure that a Big4 is giving me. Salary wise also, I've kept in mind that I won't be shifting unless it's a 30% hike along with relocation payment. However, i have a feeling that this MNC will provide that also if i ask for it. So there my ask to the forum here, should I shift or stay? Please lend me your wisdom! P.S. This Indian MNC is big like Tata, Adani, Reliance Big (without taking any specific name)

Hey everyone, I am currently working as a security analyst working for a company that provides pentesting as a service to its clients. I am getting paid 17lpa fixed salary. I earn 80-90k from freelancing every month pre taxes. So should I switch or not. It's been 3 years I am in this company and I can't see much growth now. I will be doing the same work. The work is full remote and the culture of company s also nice and workload is fine. What should I do? Should I look for a product based company but most of them call onsite. I want remote work only that is mandatory.

Indian. I am a SDE (backend) currently. ~2 yrs exp. 16 LPA and I work 40-50 hrs a week. I like where I am, but I am not feeling the zeal for tech anymore. Probably will do a MBA down the line (thinking abroad, not sure) Looking for equal or greater pay, similar WLB, new domain. Should I switch to PM and try a hand at it? Am I aware of the reality or living in my own isolated reality?

I'm a senior consultant(mix of business analyst and consultant) at a mid size organization with 3 YOE, 16 LPA from tier 1 college. From my understanding I'm entering a stage where i can still pivot to product management, as later on it will be pretty hard! So my question to you all is that is it worth it to change career or should i climb ladder in consultancy. I don't really have any passion, my main focus points are money and job security. I've been working for two years in my current company. Overall 5 years of experience. I'm getting enough learning opportunities here and got promoted last year. Not having too much expectations with the annual hike, should I consider switching to another company for compensation purpose? Please guide with some reasons...

I find myself in a rather perplexing situation at work and could use some impartial advice. Currently, I am employed at an Indian e-commerce firm where I have put in a lot of hard work. However, during the recent annual cycle, I was not promoted, and my salary hike was disappointingly meager (CCTC 14.5LPA). Naturally, I expressed my concerns to my manager, who advised me to wait until the mid-cycle as my promotion case would be reconsidered then. In the meantime, I actively sought out new opportunities, and I have received an enticing offer from a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) firm with a significantly higher compensation of 24LPA. This is substantially more than what I'm currently earning, but less than my expected CTC that is around 28-30LPA. The confusion lies in the fact that my current firm has now initiated the promotion feedback process, and it's possible that I may get the promotion soon. I'm now torn between two choices: do I stay at my current job, potentially get the promotion, and then reconsider switching, or do I seize the opportunity at the CPG firm with the better financial package? I understand that both options have their pros and cons, but I'm finding it challenging to make a decision on my own. I am 2022 passout 24 yr old.I have joined one service based startup after college for 6.2 Lakh.But Out of 10 months I was on the bench for 8 months so in that period I have prepared for interview and Got the offer of 17 LPA.Its been 8 months in this job , But from last 2-3 months my growth is stagnant and I got bored as their is not much work as well.So should I go for another switch or wait ?

Biggest query: Does this career move make sense? Or should the aim be towards a Manager position after spending 6+ years in Product Management?

Graduated in 2021 have 2 yoe working in a b2b unicorn as sde-1, earning 20lpa fixed no esops. I made one switch last year. But now I realised I was learning more in my previous product company. Here most of the work is boring like writing repeated sql queries minor bug fixes and very little coding. Is 20lpa low as per industry standards for 2 yoe in bengaluru ?

I am SDE and I joined a company 2.5 months back. I don't like the work that I am doing and the company is far from being profitable+ a huge cash burn + management is not good. I interviewed with some other company and they have offered me a role. On paper it's an upgraded role but they are offering the exact salary as the current one + some esops. Would you accept the offer if you were in my place? Some general info: 1. Hate the work I am doing currently, the knowledge I get here can't be used in other companies. 2. Work is slow, not learning anything new 3. New company seems good from outside till now, have to validate with ex-employees 4. New company has Hybrid work, current is WFO 5. Have another offer which is paying a bit more than the 'new company' but don't want to join it, These guys are not matching the offer sadly
