Thanks @Micheal_Scott ! I will definitely do!
These worked really well for me when I was in same situation -
1. Brush up your skills/knowledge. Keep yourself ready for interviews.
2. Limit your screen time.
3. Try to see positive side, be hopeful.
4. Be grateful for other things which you have.
5. Don’t hesitate to reach out to that one person whom you dint speak in last 10 years. You never know where your next opportunity is hidden.
6. Focus on your health, both physical and mental.
7. Talk to people if you feel low.
8. Have atleast 3 choices of your next job. Start targeting for top priority one. If that doesn’t work out for next 10-15 days. Move to 2nd preferred choice and so on.
All the best !

I know it’s the worst experience for any employee. Few things -
- Though many comments here mentioned “take some time to recover”. I would say, that shouldn’t be the approach, market is becoming ultra-competitive and you need to crack the next role asap. Reason is - The more you delay, people will misuse ( majority will) your situation to their advantage. I already see suppression of compensation in market.
- Take profile view services from naukri.com, it keeps your profile on top and helps you get few calls
- Keep in touch with the people who are going through the same phase. You will have your ranting corner without any power dynamics at play.
- Use LinkedIn search box “ hiring + role_name” every day, and keep following people making relevant posts.
- Be ready to face rejections, accepting it before helps a lot.
I'm really sorry to hear this. Get the papers, salary slip, TDS stuff (basically all things finances sorted).
Take anything imp from device if you still have access to the accounts.
Lastly, it happens, it's not your fault. Take time off to recover and rejuvenate. Then chart out what you want to do next.
Good luck mate!
My condolences, take care my dude!
Whatever you do, please do not shit post and corporate worship on LinkedIn about how great byejuice was
Don't fall into a circuit, thinking, rethinking what went wrong and how you could have probably avoided it. It is almost always the Miserable culture that has created this..

Hey @Yamprofessional
Hang in there, a better life awaits
On finding the next job - take some time to recover, but then go all guns blazing in terms of applying/cold emailing/networking. The most inspiring story I’ve seen is of a friend who got laid off (not group lay off, they were fired), but then recovered within a week and then got to a good place within 2-3 weeks. Just pure determination.
Been there and what helped me is to focus on things in my control.
1. Right time to upskill as you have ample time to focus on things that may be getting delayed since years.
2. Save your mind at all costs. Remember that everything happens for a reason and better to accept whatever has happened and move on by focusing in the present
3. Meditation and Breathing Techniques really help you to be more focused and lets you be positive. I have Learnt some breathing techniques like Sudarshan Kriya and Meditation taught by Art of Living. It really helped. You can check it online also. ArtofLiving.org/ohp
Do not rush for interviews you’ll screw them, take a week off, go to some unexplored places meet strangers talk to them.
I got laid off last Wednesday, packed my bags and is out there on hills, met some amazing people heard their stories.
50% of folks are either planning to resign or have resigned here.
When you take a break from city life you realise there are lot of things out there, you just have to clean up your mind.
Research on the target companies and then get started fresh.
@Yamprofessional please dont rush into it habe seen the best candidates fail many times coz they were not in the right frame of mind or prep so many times more than people who clear. Rejections are always higher than selections.
I get it time is bad,;expectations are high due to surplus. Better to prepare and do it best .

I wasn’t expecting such an overwhelming response! 🥹Thank you all so much! This was my first job out of college, it will be a bit tough to get over it but with everyone’s awesome advice/support/guidance in the comments would definitely. Probably the most wholesome and help bunch of people you can find on the internet are here🥰. I have gone through every comment but not sure if I can reply to everyone🥲
Thank you once again☺️🫶🏽
Yours truly,

Take a chill for a bit, travel, spend time with family, then start preparing for interviews, I hope you get another job in no time 😀
Take a bit of time for yourself.
Let that lay off sink in.
In the background, apply aggressively to roles that you fit in.
Keep your LinkedIn updated, job portals updated.
Talk to your close circles and closer families for new job prospects.
Give every interview that comes your way.
Invest in yourself to upskill.

go on a trip
Focus on bounce back everytime you feel bad. Just think of what you want to be and try to go at it everyday. This is the biggest back to back tech lay offs all of us have seen, everyone is still trying make sense out of it all, dont try to solve it in your head all alone. Things are slowly getting better.
Once you feel better start prep.
Remember once you get a job all of this will go away. Keep preparing till then.

I wasn’t too bothered as my life did not revolve around work. I knew I would find another job. Mostly because I spent long hours during my early days perfecting the skills required in this industry.
So just fake your confidence till you feel like you legit have it. At least this would help in interviews.
Also, your work does not define you. It’s not the end of the world. As you just experienced , you can be let go of with a snap of a finger. There’s more to life than that. Why spend days cribbing about it when they did not spend even a minute thinking about keeping you?

Enjoy one month. If you can afford it - best shit ever. Also start reaching out to founders and HRs with one pagers on how you'll help them. Don't only easy apply. Also breathe. You'll get something super soon.
take some time off, it is much needed. Spend time with your family or friends or go for a trip. Also, layoff happened for no fault of yours, please don’t ever hold yourself responsible for it.
If you are yet to negotiate your severance, ask for health insurance and placement support and confirm about the severance package.
Talk to people, do the go in a shell and if you ever feel it a bit overwhelming ( i did when i went through it) feel free to drop a message to me.
There are enough jobs in the market and you will get one. Don’t rush into getting one as there will be companies who try to lowball you.
Good luck
