Advice needed

Hey everyone,

I'm a React Native developer with 2 years of experience based in Surat, Gujarat. I recently completed my 2 years at my current job, but the appraisal discussion hasn't come up even after 15 days.

I've been learning iOS development alongside my job since it's something I've always wanted to do. I’ve covered the basics of Swift and started with SwiftUI, but I’m not yet ready to take on an iOS developer role – I still need more learning and practice.

I'm at a crossroads now. If I start looking for a new job, should I stick with React Native or switch to iOS? I initially learned React Native to get into mobile development because there were fewer resources for iOS. Now, I want to leave React Native behind, but I’m worried that switching might stop me from learning iOS.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What did you do? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Nice, continue to learn iOS, however consider flutter as companies want their apps in both OS these days and want to save cost of development.

But find job in current profile as of now. React has good demand too.

don’t discard react native as there is a good market for react native compared to native iOS, also if you have additional knowledge of native platform with react native, that’s a good Thing to have that’s an added advantage since even in react native you have to write custom native modules to access platform specific apis which react native out of the box doesn’t provide.

I don’t have that much information on market but yes additional skills are great to have, but as I said I learned RN to get in Mobile my long term goal was iOS. Another this is that I want to learn enterprise level skills and I feel that RN is not sufficient. If you want to discuss more DM me, I will be delighted.
