Advice on personal finance

I'm a fresh grad who started his job. Can someone suggest how can I start with my investments. Like where to study and how to proceed. I'm too confused about everyone talking about financials and I don't understand at all (I'm from a non financial background).

Any advice will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

I cannot advice per se.
But share what I would have done then with all the wisdom I had now.
-Take a good look at all spends and cut out anything that I don’t need. I don’t wanna be a miser and I definitely wanna have a chill life but not anything extravagant.

  • understand the exact amount I can save. If it’s in excess of 10lakhs per year, hire a SEBI certified financial advisor.

  • If it hasn’t yet crossed, take one good term insurance. (Lots of YouTube videos share the pros and cons). Take a good health insurance. Invest remaining 30% - 40% of my savings in FD for as long as possible( Assuming I am sure I won’t have to touch this money for a long time). Break the remaining savings into two parts, one for 80C (invest in PPFs/MFs/Maybe tax savings FDs) and remaining in Nifty50.

But there’s so much more that can be done and depending on your risk appetite you can try even more things. All of these above are what I would do differently.
