Haven't got any transplant yet, but I might consider getting one after 10-15 years 😂 pretty young rn. But from what I know, you can think of it like planting crops. The hair will grow like it used to be there in a few months and you can get hair cuts and treat it like your normal hair. But this doesn't mean the hair won't fall again. You'd have to maintain it by applying minoxidil from time to time as suggested by your dermatologist
Also, if you're considering getting one done then get it done from a good place. It has risks of infection like with any procedures and the reconstructed hair should look real and not artificial (a straight, ruler drawn hairline would look odd and unnatural) so go with a well known place with experts
