Depends on what you know as an ML engineer. A role of thumb: If you find a model is not working for a specific set of data. Your solution to the problem is: “let’s train the model on that data.” Then likely no. You need to know the why. And have an intuition in cases where the precise answer is not known.
Similar stuff that goes with data engineers and orchestration work. If you understand the why, you are worth that salary.
And what companies pay such salaries?
If there are, either they are non India based or they will disappear shortly.
So if you are very very exceptional sure . But if you have knowledge equivalent to a 12-13 year exp employee a company would prefer to hire an experienced employee simply because he is experienced and matured.
