If you have faith in your industry, both of you can make good money together and be prepared for early retirement. This is also good, rather than being in disjoint industries where both of you bloom in different phase of your life.
The benefit is that you will be able to live together in same city, will be able to relate and connect to each other due to similar backgrounds, and can plan things well.
If you both choose different industries, it's totally okay as long as it doesn't affect your marriage - too demanding job, long distance, high upfront investment etc.
Also, you should definitely make alternate investments to not depend on your job.
