Assignment for interviews

Hey guys.

While I know that there is this ridiculous practice of getting candidates who are applying for upper middle to top management roles to do an assignment, has anyone who has done that experienced 'being taken advantage of'.

The reason I am asking is cause I have done a couple of them (putting in decent effort and feeling quite confident) and got no calls in return. What makes it even more shady is that I don't get feedback even after asking for it a couple of times. There was once when I saw the same inputs that I gave being put in practice which infuriated me.

Any inputs?

A lottttt!

Better to push back and ask on the face when given an assignment. Startups do this as they get free work done. Established companies might do it less.

Also if they don't address your concern, it's a red flag. You can do a screenshare of your past assignments and show them.

Marketing/Growth/Product etc have it easy to steal. Finance assignments etc less so. Depending on what they are asking, if it's a random case study, do it. But if it's gonna be useful for the firm, take your stand. They will hire a junior with half your CTC and ask him to execute your submitted plan.
