Any feedback on GIVA? Is it really popular?
I think it’s this category - artificial (cheaper) jewellery is the fastest growing sub category probably in accessories; and Giva is definitely a brand often heard about

this jewellery is available in Palika Bazaar or on the footpath. Why does one need a brand for this?

I know someone who worked in the design team and she painted an extremely scary picture of the company.
I know her work hours were insanely long. Her weekends were working as well. Additionally, she told me that were many instances of abusive behaviour which included the CEO and senior managers shouting and breaking down other employees, especially targeting women, or bringing in insane policies from time to time which included 25% monthly salary as fine if anyone did not follow his orders.
There were also rumours of the CEO emotionally and sexually abusing senior people for years on the pretext of a relationship.
I hope the investors take the required action.
There's one more thing. The company had four co-founders in total. One was pushed out. The other two were given 3% in equity each. The remainder was kept by the founder and his relatives. If you see the shareholding on tracxn, you will see the founder's father and his uncles owning more equity than the co-founder who works hard and leads all the jewelry designs of the firm.
The founder's name is Ishendra. I can prove and confirm everything above with legitimate sources if required.

Have come across this a lot of times. They spend a lot on marketing and positioning but it just doesn't fit right. As an avid shopper in this category and a brand manager myself, I never felt like exploring it, nor did any of my friends. Not everyone can do luxe branding right 🤷♀️
