After dating data Engineering & data scientist field 1-1 year, which should I choose as permanent?

Which is a better field, data analyst or data engineer in terms of growth and salary.

I would like to know from real world data scientists if they think, data science is better than Data engineering. I am a data engineer with 2.6 YOE. I want to grow. But should i focus more on data engineering or should i focus on data science for my career growth. I need some valuable suggestions.

I am really confused with both of these topics about which one to choose , I am changing my career domine , currently working as automation engineer, having a thought to shift data scientist role but due to Chat gpt and other AI tools I feel data science role might not available for future . Need your help , which field I should choose for secure future.

I am unemployed since 1 year,did not do anything for 1 year coz of some reason , earlier I was in QA but now want to get into development. Already 1 year is gone which is big enough career gap and I am panicking. Now I am not able to understand whether I should join any software development course like Crio or shall I join any Data science/ML course. Whatever I have to do it will take 6 months more , but I guess I have no choice. I know basic nodejs and all but no knowledge of Data science however DS will be more in demand in future so that is why I am thinking about that. But I am not sure which one shall I take ? I just wanted to know from folks that can anyone learn Data science in 6 months good enough to get a job or shall I opt for software development course. Also , if I shall go for data science course , please suggest me some good training institute for it.

Hi viners , I'm planning to start my career in data analytics and move towards data science or management consulting. I'm entering into university to get a stats major. I'm kinda worried about AI as it can do greater analysis and generate insights in a lesser time when compared to humans. Will data analytics become useless in the future? If not, then what can I do to leverage myself and integrate work with AI in data analytics. 🤔

Hi All I have 2.5 YOE as an analyst, currently working as an senior product analyst with CTC of 15L fixed + 5L ESOPs. I have only been in product since start of career and have a set path to becoming an APM at my firm by next cycle in Dec. Recently I wanted some building experience and I have built a few web and mobile apps and I found coding is very interesting. I’m having thoughts about switching careers because of 2 reasons: 1) Money - although I believe I’m underpaid (cause I received offers of 22L fixed for role of product analyst in past but chose not to switch because of market volatility.) But in long run, I believe being tech is going to make a lot more money compared to product roles (I have friends with 1-2 YOE making 26L fixed) and the remote opportunities. 2) Skills Product is mostly soft skills and tech is more hard skills driven. With amount of layoffs in PM roles, I think tech is just a safer bet. Also given I don’t hate coding. I think I would happily code compared to doing things like user calling/ making review decks/ following up with other teams meticulously/ writing PRDs. One specific question I have is: what are things in tech role that are not very fun to do but still part of JD?

Hi All, I have 6 YOE. Initial 2.5 years I worked as Backend developer in Python, Django, AWS and Little bit JS. After that all of my experience is in Data Engineering mostly in GCP (have few certifications as well.) Currently I am working at Walmart. Most of the work I do in Data side is adhoc and projects are also not upto the expectations lot of manual work is also there. I am not really enjoying my career as data engineer. Pay is good. I am thinking to move back to Software Engineering, 1. is it a good idea for long term? 2. What skill should I focus on if I have to move back? 3. Is it just the projects that I am working on making data engineer look less interesting to work ?

Considering the automation threat from AI analytics roles might get fewer and salaries are not that much high in analytics. What are your views on this? Do you think analytics will be the most impacted field because of AI? If anyone had changed from analytics to de/ds, how difficult to change?
