Is it better to switch from analytics to data engineer/data science?

Currently I have 1.5 yoe as a data scientist with CTC of 6 lpa. Thinking of transitioning to Data Analyst or SDE but can't figure out. I have graduated in Mechanical Engineering, so I don't have the pedigree to become a good SDE. What you all think?

Which is a better field, data analyst or data engineer in terms of growth and salary.

Is data engineer a good carrier to opt for considering the salary, growth and future prospects?

Hi viners , I'm planning to start my career in data analytics and move towards data science or management consulting. I'm entering into university to get a stats major. I'm kinda worried about AI as it can do greater analysis and generate insights in a lesser time when compared to humans. Will data analytics become useless in the future? If not, then what can I do to leverage myself and integrate work with AI in data analytics. 🤔

Currently handling 2 projects, and some of PM work to define some roadmaps. I like engineering and coding in whole and want to know more. So do I switch to some SDE role or is there are more paths after Data analytics? I know ML, DL and NLP but not sure will it be a great choice to make career primarily in Data science. Hey everyone, happy to answer any questions around Data Science/ML/AI and making a career within it A brief about me, I work currently as a Sr. ML Engineer at an Indian unicorn startup I graduated 5+ years ago and have since worked as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer at an ecommerce company and social media company. My designations have changed based on the industry requirements and work too changed based on that. Would love to take questions on what it means to be an ML Engineer, my early learnings from a career in data science, and thoughts on AI. Look forward to all questions :)

I've been an Oracle Database Administrator handling databases and exadata, data guard, performance tuning (not so great at it), little bit of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as well and typical DBA tasks including tablespace reorganization, migrations, etc. for the last 3 years. Now I'm thinking about transitioning into a Data Engineer/Data Analyst roles as it seems it is having a more lucrative future ahead. I'm good at doing DBA things but I'm doubtful about this considering the future scope of this as there isn't much a DBA has to do in databases as most of the work is handled by Database itself but I have an interest in it and getting calls from other companies as well for the same role. Is DBA a really good career option considering the future and the compensation? Or exploring or gaining skills in data engineering/analyst has more benefit? Also, what would be the best among Data Engineer/Data Analyst/AI,ML Engineer?

I am working as analyst where I mostly work on tableau to create visualizations and thinking about moving to Data scientist role. I have good knowledge SQL and now learning python (pandas, scikit learn). Can anyone guide me on how to prepare for this transition. Which certification can help me for this change?
