People who smoke, why do you smoke?

I never really understood this. What makes you enjoy smoking? Not trying to judge, just trying to understand your perspective. I know that you know it’s bad.

Same reasons why people eat sweets/ sugar/ simple carbs - they know it’s bad. releases the right hormones and you get addicted.

What I think is you take deep breaths while you smoke so that relaxes your nervous system and calms your mind. The nicotine gives you dopamine I guess may be wrong. In the deep inhale and exhale lies the charm I feel. You blow off the steam and feel relaxed.

Yea. I was considering that. I am no saint. I smoke up often and also drink. But they give substantial effect on me. Hence I can empathise why people do it

We all do few things which are bad for us. And when it comes to smoking(during work or hard time) let me tell you it gives few minutes of calmness/ thinking clear and to restart what needs to be done.

Mostly helps after a hectic day at work. Not addicted per se( have gone >21 days without the craving). Would prefer greens over cigs but moved to new city and don’t know enough people to buy that from. So yeah thats it.
