Bain vs McKinsey vs BCG in India, specifically in BLR?
Does anyone have any insights into the type of projects, culture, WLB etc. in the Big 3 Management Consulting firms in India, especially in Bangalore?
Thank you.
pata chale toh mujhe bhi batana bro
Sorry, didn't get you.
Ah ok.
Also how's it going at EY mate? Are you in audit or consulting? I've heard they make you work like a donkey, even on weekends?
BCG is by far the best in terms of growth and Bain in terms of WLB. Bain has plenty of PE projects so all WFH. Rest all are travel. Source - wife works at BCG as a generalist consultant not capability center.
What do you mean when you say BCG is best for growth? Learning? Exit opps?
I thought Bain and Co and Bain Capital (PE) are two different entities?
Which has more travel, BCG or Bain?
Any info regarding McKinsey?
Sorry for bugging you with questions, I'd just like to learn about the consulting scene here. I'll be very grateful if you could ask your wife and let me know.
BCG is doing really well in India compared to McK...more projects, better projects, travel, etc. not too sure about the Bain structure but in general Bain has many PE related projects as it's their expertise. McK is great too but the last couple of years have been a struggle for them at least in India...exit opportunities --- if you want similar pay go to a startup, don't expect to be hired as a managing director with 1cr salary in a JP or GS with 6 years experience...hence exit opportunities are limited if you want similar pay, else be ready for a paycut
I thought that the main consulting teams sit in Mumbai or gurgaon for most of them.
All three have consulting and capabilities teams in blr too. It's not as big as the mumbai teams, but they do get big projects.
Hey are you in management consulting?
They’re all similar only.
BCG culture is worst. Bain is said to be the best.
McKinsey ofcourse has most splendor and brand value and best projects
