1. Most lowest, low to Mid ratings (identified by your manager) 2. High TC — if you are in the same level for a long time (> 3 years) and your TC is reaching the top of that band. 3. High initial stock grant (possible by great offer negotiation skills) and you are approximately in the 2nd or 3rd year (when you got the most pay) 4. those who get retention offer in the past and your TC is L + 1 but not performing at L+1. Time to cut the cost. 5. Coasters: if your manager carefully Evalates your criticality and concluded you are easily replaceable 6. People who consistently complaining their teams are too busy too much pressure too bad WLB are in danger too. How to minimize your chance of being laid off 1. Tell your manager you don’t need any tc increase，or tc is not your career goal 2 tell your manager you are willing to work hard and have no complaints. If you took 2 ppl work, no one will choose to let you go!

Living in India, there exists a stigma around hiring laid-off employees, a mindset that lacks the maturity to comprehend life's inevitable fluctuations. It's disheartening to observe this perspective, especially when considering the experiences of team members in the US, who faced a similar situation but managed to secure employment. This disparity in mindset may be one reason why individuals hesitate to return to India after experiencing the professional landscape in the US. Indian recruiters & hiring managers need to come out & change mindset about laid off engineers & managers. This is truly killing the entire ecosystem.

With big corporate giants like Google, Apple, Bain, Tesla, Amazon etc. laying off staff in the name of cost reduction, automation&innovation and restructuring while at the same time tech companies like Accenture not awarding any yearly hikes to professionals for 2 consecutive years now, where do you see the IT/Tech/Consulting industry heading towards in next couple years down the line? By when is the market expected to revive? Which companies are still committed to ensuring job security along with high pay standards or is that a thing of the past? Please enlighten me😊

Amazon Microsoft, Google, etc. All layying off people. They just started sending emails today morning for US/Canada. India/EU would be sent next week so we dont know the exact numbers yet. Same information going on Blind, hundreds of Amazon employees laid off in the morning.
