Best tablet (not iPad just for the sake of it)

Buying a tablet with as less budget as I can but can pay for utility

  • Want to read (Mac plus android phone is cluttered)
  • Basic design (canva) willing to try ios for procreate (I am a designer)
  • App design (flutterflow)
  • Basic video editing (for Instagram and linkedin)

Consideration set

  • ipad 9th gen
  • ipad air (worth the money for my use case)
  • Samsung a9+, s7 FE, s6 lite

Decision parameters

  • book reading experience
  • money vs use case worth
  • need stylus
  • 2 to 3 years low maintainance tab

Anything else to consider?

iPad Pro is hands down the best and the one I use.

Both iPad variants you mentioned are okay-sh contenders. Samsung S6 Lite maybe affordable but it is just shit.

If you don't have the money and cost is a restraint, then iPad 9th Gen could be a good fit, otherwise, iPad Air 5th gen is better.

🤮 You lost me at pro. Pro is useless for my use case just like this answer.

Wont buy a football field cause I want to play football today. Unless I am bad at money management or maybe show off. ( just for my use case)

Enjoy your pro.

I merely mentioned that I own a Pro not that I recommend you that. It is an effort to showcase credibility.

Regardless, the last paragraph mentions the rationale behind what is better.

I guess you are just salty about something in my answer. Apologies for that.

Please be mindful that being a piece of trash while commenting is piss poor behaviour.

My base iPad which I bought for 24k in 2019 is still going strong. Never faced any issues, slowdowns etc on it. I've used friend's air and frankly I don't see any reason for an update. I use it for notes, content, planning trips and sometimes sketch. Works great. It's the most VFM product from apple, by miles.

@inr I am thinking of either going with a cheap ass tablet for just reading and video editing. But looking at iPad at 25k 9th gen my mind keeps going back to it. 😂 Would you trade your iPad now for a 20k android tablet now?

TBH, iPad @ 24k was such a good deal I didn't even consider the alternatives. How much do the alternatives which you're seeing cost?

iPad Air. Like their macbooks it's a beast of a machine design and build wise, that will serve you well for 5 years. I look at expenses as cost per year and this is where it's better value than Samsung or any peak Android tablet. Not the case with smartphones though 😂

i still got my ipad air 4 from 2020. hands down best affordable one, and never once been disappointing. i got a few paid apps for my workflow, and i can seamlessly use with my mba m2. amazing battery life, great for sketching, wireframing and even doing illustrations. reading is somewhat tiring, since it's a bit heavy with the case on. maybe the mini will solve that for you too, but with less space for the pencil.

0 maintenance, apple pencil are additional perks :))

You can buy Xiaomi Pad and then install Pixel based Rom to get the best performance from it. Else you can buy the base iPad which is usually below 30k
