BJP vs Cong in blr

Who do you think is doing a better job between the two governments that have been in power in Bangalore. We've seen a little bit of both now. I honestly feel the water issue should have been pre-empted and I don't remember this happening before.

Neither. Both are bad. Both the parties are extremely corrupt and look at short-term projects because that's an easier way to pocket money. This is not a new issue at all and has happened multiple times before. Only this time it's more severe and no solution in sight as it's still march.

Add to it there's no municipal body functional since the last 4 years as elections haven't been held. So parties across the spectrum have to be blamed.

BJP got voted out because one of the main factors was high corruption levels (40% commission scam on tenders, read up on it).

But problem is Congress is also corrupt. They need to buckle up seriously and turn things around, otherwise this term will also be shorter than expected.

Only 3 CMs have completed full term in Karnataka btw. Extremely high competition similar to Delhi and Mumbai for seats and power. Govts keep toppling because big chunk of money flows through Bangalore that they want to control.

Sad part is common citizens will most likely keep suffering all this while.

I just want water and roads for now. Then I'll dream about corruption free cities. Thoughts?

Haha, have you even got any idea how true you are?!!😅

Abhi abhi aakh kholne waala migrant. All this has been seen since 20 years ago, is being seen now and will likely see in future. I will put in somewhere on drawbacks of democracy.

Water issues were perennial in Bengaluru. I have been here for more than 30 years now. You guys are screaming your lungs out just for today's state, you have no idea how we have fought for water. People used to get into fist fights, go begging neighbours who had a working borewell etc.

But now such areas have become sexy. This same area which used to suffer in parts of classic Bangalore hasn't seen water woes in more than 10 years now. Combination of kaveri + municipal supply solves it.

Whitefield etc are new areas. It will take its time. Any new area if needing water supply should be solved at reservoir level primarily. That's a big ticket project with insane land acquisition costs and hurdles etc... And these lands are no where cheap or easily given up as they would be next to fertile riverbeds. People won't give up easily.

So, problem is Bangalore politicians or our officials are primarily busy playing catch-up. We need strong iron handed authority to plan for future. Whatever vishweshraiah planned and implemented was in king's era. Govts won't push for land acquisitions unless they see concrete need because it inconveniences local vote banks. Vision is a pipe dream in democracy.

Bjp and congress are the same party in Karnataka. Politicians get mood swings every 5 years. No ideology only money and corruption
