Business vs Tech Salaries
As a business graduate, it's often humbling to see the tech salaries based on my YOE (4-7 bracket) with the people at the top end earning 50-60+ lpa. (Fixed)
Assuming i want to optimise for Money - What can I do as a business graduate to do well similar to tech folks?
Would love to hear from all of you.
P.S. No IB/Consulting advice please. Not the type of work I've liked 😄
Its gone now salaries have been normalised and will be normalised what had seen exponential spike in tech salaries will not hold true now and in coming time
Why not try for VC/PE roles? They get paid one of the best. I can even risk by saying the best in the industries with the great upside of creating a huge amount of wealth for at least a horizon of 10 years. You can even think of retiring early.
The market is really dry rn, no good fund paying that scale is hiring+VC/PE traditionally are hard industries to get into
Debatable actually.

Entrepreneurship or learning a niche and freelancing is the only way left if u don't want IB/Consulting.
Yup, makes sense. Already did IB, not my cuppa tea....
@Redburnt completely understand the fear you are going through. As a business graduate who is into compensation consultant I see a vivid gap in pay for tech roles and business roles. If you have a desire to startup and would like to chat please email on mj4769282@gmail.com
Sales - the more money you can show that you got for the business, the higher compensation you can demand. Customer facing / Revenue generating roles earn the highest.
Alternatively, start up on your own if you see a gap anywhere
Agreed, I definitely feel the need to have some supplementary income along with a stable job.
Thought about becoming a product manager? it's also highly paid role and you don't need to code.
Yup, I agree. PM's do earn quite a lot compared to the typical business graduate in other divisions.
