Dunzo massive layoff
dunzo laid off ~20-25% of it's workforce today, calling it that they overhired, pretty pre-planned. And coincidentally some dept. heads are on leave for the next few days, unavailable to answer their team. I wonder why these people even take up the leadership roles if they can't step forward to answer.

Kuch bhee masala mila diye yaar tum ne...
Layoff was massive, 30%+
Leadership did an org wide call announcing it first
Informed impacted folks on email and 1-1s with Dirs/EMs
Leadership did townhall QnA in the evening with everyone
Internal all hands happened. Plus 1 on 1s with non impacted folks too.
I meant the head of departments. From what I know, they are off for a week.

They’re one of the companies I really admire. They hire too level staff as well. Good luck to folks at Dunzo who got laid off. Super skilled folks. Specially the design team ✌️

Cowards. Leadership only for chest thumping in good times.
And just got a notification saying dunzo secured $75M through convertible notes and all.

Yeah. Although ofc convertible note is like debt.
So it's not "free VC money" which they can spend willy nilly. It's definitely a sign that they need to get conservative.

sure ..obvious recognising general
These dunzo founders, especially kabeer is arrogant af. Hires for less, then in 6 months fires the highly paid employees. Worst culture ever.
The founders would have bought a couple of more properties around indiranagar this week too. Layoffs won't affect the buying process
Dunzo stopped service in posh IT areas of Hyderabad (i.e. with good customer base) for the last 1 week. Something is wrong in general
