Freshers laid off

Ola started laying off again. This time they had fired all the freshers of 2022 batch . Every 2-3 months we see this situation.

Hiring for a bunch of roles for an early stage startup. Salaries of people who have been laid off is through the roof 2-3 years experience asking for 30-40l and while we chose not to judge the experience and spoke to a few of them, most of them are not even worth half of the pay. Many are jobless since last 2-3 months and none of them are willing to take a paycut of even 5-6L and are willing to stay jobless ( probably have a ton of savings ) Market correction is necessary. Hi. I got placed in a very good company through my college placement as an intern. Due to large team size they didn't converted me as a full time employee. But then I got call from another team and go through the interview process like technical rounds mangerial round and hr round. I got offer in that team. Initially they gave me recorded KTs and assigned me few courses regarding the product and I completed that. But the problem arises when I am implementing what I learned from KTs and courses. Not all time, but I reach out to people for some clarity nd then I solve the issue. Within a month i was assigned a task which requires assistance from another team which has only two people from india to assist here. So that task took more time than it usually takes for an experienced member. My Manager on one on one speak like reach out to people when you need help, but when I do he speak like why are you wasting whole team time. And I'm the only one who is at the entry level post and others are seniors and they didn't showed any intrest in training or assisting me. So I'm bit worried about asking our for help. But I do resolve customer side bugs not just trouble shooting also the code changes. As the day went of, one day he said like from day one it's a disappointment from you and I really didn't understand what he saw in me in my first day and in the follow up meeting he says like ur performance is not up to the mark. I'm so depressed by those words and waiting for them to terminate me. When I applied for a week leave for my family function he called me in the morning and said you are terminated. And the reason he told me was performance issues. And I really didn't understand that is this a genuine reason? Thoughts on this..... PS: I got terminated a week back..

Hi guys, I really need help, I recently got laid off as a Software Developer. I am a recent graduate from IIIT Gwalior. Am actively looking for an SDE Backend role. Have been applying everywhere with referrals, still no response. It's financially draining. Any leads would be appreciated.

Housing.com (REA India) ranked 3rd in the GPTW survey this year. They provide several awesome perks like, laying off without any notice, fucking their reviews just so that they could justify the lay offs, and threatening actions if anything came out on social media. 10-15% of the whole tech team was laid off (mostly freshers) apparently on the basis of low performance. It was all carried out by the higher management, not even the managers had any clue about the lay off happening. The performance rating was rigged by the higher management who had no interaction with the tech people. They had this awesome idea of getting reviewed by people who we had never interacted with. Managers were merely bystanders who had no say in the performance review whatsoever. PS: A note for the management --> Housing.com would be an employee friendly company only if you guys would give two fucks about employees, instead of Caring so much about the GPTW ranking like conducting hands on sessions and literally forcing people to put in good rating.

It’s disheartening to see 1000s of people being laid off in recent times. Most of them have a family to feed and EMIs / bills to pay. Today it’s them and tomorrow it could be Me and You as well. And it’s pretty much clear that these new age companies are not empathetic and would go to any extent to meet their goals. Why isn’t any employee doing anything about these atrocities? Following are the few ways to send out a strong message to these employers for abusing / blackmailing / and forcing resignations and PIPs (share more in comments) 1. Boycott their products / Services - make a noise about it on social media. 2. Stop subscribing to their IPOs or start dumping their stocks. 3. Uninstall their apps.

Context: Worked at a boutique consulting firm this summer and loved it, especially my team and my manager who was very empathetic and caring. Received a PPO. Problem: Given family financial circumstances (primarily) I had to think beyond my interests and hence sat for placements and received a placement from a much bigger consulting company. I now feel super guilty and do not know what to do. I eventually want to come back to the boutique firm as it specialises in a niche I care about (once family issues sorted). Question: Is it wise to be fully upfront, first tell my side of the story to my manager asap and reject PPO politely? If not, what is a good way to do it? TL:DR - How to reject a PPO after accepting it? Any honest opinion and advice would be highly appreciated. I understand I have put myself in this complicated situation.

Amazon has started another wave of layoffs

Microsoft has lost all respect from me today. Guys please spread the word so that all come to know reality. I am writing this post on behalf of my friend who is still in bad mood having mental trauma. Yesterday my friend from Microsoft was let go from his job in India. He was being pressurised to write relieving letter saying he was quitting at his own will and that the HR apparently said if he didn't write the email in next half or 1 hour he won't be getting any severance or benefits by Microsoft India. Wait..who does this to an employee? He was so tensed yesterday that he is leaving for his hometown in few days, he doest want to do any job for some time, he was literally crying. He said the ones who didnt got laid off have lost the will to work. His friends who got fired are crying as it was least expected from Microsoft. imo even amazon and sf handled the indian layoffs in a better way than Microsoft. Other then that Microsoft peeps are not allowed to write anything rubbish on social media. You can yourself see 3 rounds of layoff have happened in India and you will rarelly see any post yet on LinkedIn. Just imagine to what extent these firms are going to save their image. 😵‍💫🥺 msft used to have best people culture but now its something unimaginable😣
