When negotiating salary in Big 4 firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC), research the market rate for your role and industry. Know your worth and be confident. Start with a slightly higher target salary than your desired amount, as this gives room for negotiation. Emphasize your skills, experience, and achievements. Be flexible and open to creative solutions, like additional benefits or a performance-based raise. Be professional and respectful, and be prepared to explain your request. I am a non-tech professional with 4 years of experience. I am being offered a package of around 4.8 LPA but I want to negotiate for a higher salary. Please share some tips on how to successfully negotiate the salary, as I have not accepted the offer yet. I am looking for at least 5.5 LPA now.

How many folks here 100% refuse to share last salary and are adant that HR state their budget. How do you guys do it and also has it ever happened that you needed up losing a great opportunity coz of this???

Anyone has any stories of negotiating other perks because salary cap for the role was reached? Examples I am looking for are 1. Added allowing moonlighting to employment contract 2. Made it 4 or 3 working days instead of 5 3. Negotiated full remote (in a company that typically isn't remote for all employees)

I’m ML Engineer with 3 YOE (20LPA Base) currently based in Bangalore, and interviewing for a startup in Mumbai for Senior MLE role. During my initial conversation with HR, I told that my expectation would be 25LPA (I think I lowballed myself) and HR told that the budget is at max 25, so if I would be willing to negotiate. Honestly, at that time my only motivation was to get out of my current organisation. Now I feel that I should have asked for more, and after 3 rounds of interview, and evaluating the living expenses in Mumbai compared to BLR, I feel I should have asked for more. I’m going on friday to their office for final interview with leadership, and offer most likely would be made straight after that. How do I get the best compensation possible in this situation? P.S. In another grapevine post, someone mentioned that a PM working there is making 20LPA with 2YOE, and suggested I should be asking for more.
