Can revealing your career break be too much of a problem?

I am currently on a career break and not revealing this to the companies that I am applying to. However this has now been a cause of worry and weighing heavily on my conscience. I'm planning to come out honest, and not hide my career break anymore. Just one thing - I don't want this to be a problem for my salary negotiation AT ALL. So asking everyone out there, will it be a problem hiding your career break in terms of money? Want honest, real answers

Let's not feel ashamed of career breaks. If the organisation is more concerned with your break than your skill set, I'd say it's a bullet dodged !

Breaks are important for you to feel rejuvenated or to even align with your next steps. Talk about how the break has helped you and what value it adds to your life.

A good employer will always value your honesty and self awareness there. Unless and until we as an ecosystem and as professionals remove the taboo and fear of career breaks in our own minds, the mindset of those at the hiring chain will also not change.

And money is a function of what you bring to the table, and your experience. If they make it all about the gap and the money, it's better to run away than towards them. These kind of orgs will never value you as a human or professional, and will simply look at you as a number in their excel sheets

I am also on career break since mid 2022 and actively applying for my next gig. The thing is getting interviews is one problem, but once I get through 4 or 3 rounds of interviews, No response if I cleared or offer letter. So this is what makes me think is it career break or just skills.

Also I am early engineer in startups. So I am in same boat of anxiety and stress

Don’t hide anything.. taking a break isn’t all that bad in this day and age.. it’s better to be upfront about it and let the prospective employer take a call.. just be ready with your reasons in case it comes up during the interaction.. in almost all cases, they’ll only be interested in your skills, attitude and aptitude for the job.
