Can someone let me know how Amazon Mentoring works?

I created this whole mentee profile in Amazon Mentoring. But I'm not sure what to do next. Do I connect with the mentors there and they teach me everything they know? Or do they guide me on a particular topic. Can someone who tried it let me know how it works? Would be super helpful.

If you really need a mentor try someone outside Amazon.

If you have chosen your Mentor within Amazon, beware their negative feedback can affect your career within Amazon and YES your manager/slm can take feedback from them.

Ohh I had no idea about that. Thank you for the info. The mentors in the program includes only people from Amazon right?

Can you give me a brief idea about how it works? I'm sorry but I have zero clue here.

Can someone ask for a mentor for a different career path or is it like where you can use mentors to develop your current job role only? Would really appreciate your insights on this.

Mentors typically guide you on specific topics or career goals rather than teaching everything. Reach out with clear objectives or questions to make the most of their time and expertise. Their guidance depends on your focus and needs.

You can ask any Amazonian to be your mentor. If they agree you can add them officially as a mentor in the tool.
Mentors basically can provide guidance on career paths, or you can have many other discussion basis requirements and experience. Your mentor could be someone in the same role or different, doesn't matter. You can have multiple mentors as well. Ideally your mentor should be a level above or more.

Ohh I see. Thank you for the info. Means a lot. Basically I was hoping to switch careers to the role of a Business Analyst and I was wondering if a mentor from that role could help me with acquiring the skills required for the role. Does it work that way?
