Should I switch ?
I have made 7 switches in 8yrs as a web developer and feel like switching again.
Should I switch?
I am aged 30 ,UM ,Male , have been working in IT for close to 9 years now . But I never had an option to quit this job due to my family financial situations. Now I saved enough money for my parents. I want to switch my career to Semiconductors technology (Chip designing, Physical design etc ). I don’t have any prior experience or not even workshops experience in that field but I always wanted to be. It might sound like foolish thought, but I feel like hell here doing this job without any interest (but I always received outstanding feedback from my leadership as well as clients). If I continue here , my next designation would be Manager.
Long story but here are my questions …
Your genuine answer could help people like me who are trapped in this kind of dilemma.. TIA
Your skillset?
Automation : Java, Selenium, and certified Scrum Master and have Dev exp in Salesforce ( Mid level )
U are doing this from 9y...it's very sad.
Semiconductors will pay u good.
If it's ur passion, u can always switch and try for 1y.
If u find it good continue else jump back to the old ship.
Don't jump the ship just for monetary gain but your happiness
