Cleared interviews but unsure of offer

Hi all,

How common is it to clear all interviews and still not get an offer?

The recruiter confirmed I've cleared all interviews & asked for salary expectations etc. As next steps I've to wait for the hiring team to decide based on pay among candidates. Ive never had someone ask me details like notice period, current compensation documents post clearing interviews & still be unsure of offer.

Can hiring managers please throw some light on this?

It is more common than you think, lot of factors like

  • You are asking for money in a higher range.
  • Your attitude is not good in interview.
  • Your notice period is too much generally people don't give offers to people on 90 day notice.
  • They find someone better and negotiating with them.

HR ghost you multiple reasons and I am a victim of that more often than I should have been.

And no verbal confirmation is confirmation until you get a job letter and joining date in hand.

Thank you for sharing these insights.

I do have an email confirmation of clearing interviews.

I just find it odd because my current comp was already discussed in recruiter screening, it is indeed a bit high vs what they'd pay for someone with my years of work experience. I didn't ask for any specific number, just waiting for their initial offer.
Notice period is 60 days but easily negotiable.
It's a large company so wouldn't clear interviews if I wasn't a culture fit.

I guess that leaves only one option - they found someone better :')

On HR ghosting: it's a big problem! Uber's HR ghosted me after finishing the interview loop, could have at least sent a rejection email.

I'm in a similar position. I have managed to clear all rounds and was told to expect a communication from HR soon. It's been two weeks since this interaction, and I think they are just stalling at this point.

Faced the same situation in multiple companies in the last couple of months. Super frustrating and I'm almost on the verge of giving up on switching companies now
