Is it normal for recruiters to ghost after confirming that they'll be rolling out an offer after a month long interview process?
Just trying to understand what could be the reasons behind this?
I cleared all 6 rounds of a PM interview with an Edtech startup. The HR asked for current offer letter, 2 references (current and previous manager), and a couple of other docs.
Then ghosted me for 2 weeks. When I followed up, the HR said they are in-process of interviewing other candidates
Is it normal to do this now a days?
I understand the company wants to interview more people. But then why ask for any details from me till you are sure that you are going to give an offer
Personally i find any company requiring more than 3 rounds of interview as harassment. I once attended 8 rounds of interview with an edtch for PM role. Spread over 4 months. It was 2019, i took the ofer letter. Never showed up on the joining date. Had them delay the joining date by another month and still never turned up.
I think i got blacklisted there. Never got a job offer from them after that.
8 rounds seem a lot. I don't think even FAANGs take as many rounds. Or if they do, it is on a single day at office
Name and shame.
