Closed 3 Cr+ revenue in the last year as a bootstrapper ❤️
No ads No SEO No paid PR No swanky offices No employees No investors
Just a small team mostly working from home in a tier 2 city, and lots of support from friends, family, early customers and professional contacts who believed in us.
Two ventures, social impact and healthcare.
Incredibly meaningful, important and rewarding work.
This was probably my biggest revenue year as a full-time entrepreneur. Time has flown away quite literally for me. But we probably got enough runway for a year or two now, which makes it worth it.
We could start scaling up this year onwards, but it would require more working hands and possibly investors if not loans.
Team would never give up autonomy to impatient capital, that much is certain. Hence leaning towards loans. Finding compatible team mates for long term growth is also a huge task.
Maybe I will choose to stay at this scale and not expand further. Haven't decided yet.
I have more work than I can handle, which is a great problem to have for a business owner (albeit stressful 🥲).
The last few years have not been easy at all, juggling work along with helping dad recover from his heart attack. Living with parents again, cutting expenses, planning finances was difficult. Savings went to zero multiple times. Back pain and spinal cord issues cropped up from sitting too much. Went through bad breakups that seemed impossible to get over. Lost family members that were close. Cried a lot.
Many positives too though. Reconnected with friends and family after moving back home. Made new friends over time. Got covered in the news for our work (NDTV, CNBC, Indian express, brut etc), more coverage coming soon probably. Watched Bryan Adams and Udit Narayan live. Went for road trips with friends as well as solo treks. Started exercising and lost 5-6 kgs.
Blood, sweat and tears on the rollercoaster of life. Never imagined crossing thirties would be so life changing for me.
Going for a vacation tomorrow, but with laptop. Hopefully won't need to use it much 🤞
Thanks to all the well wishers and friends here. Very grateful for your support , feedback and kind words 🙏
What’s the product or service you are selling?

Social impact - customized products and services for MNCs mostly
Healthcare - medical and dental equipment sales and services for doctors, hospitals, colleges, clinics etc

Congrats and best wishes 🎉

Without ads? Hard to believe.

If it's not D2C, ads won't make a world of difference for a startup I think

Fantastic! What's your sales process?

Don't really have a process tbh. We have quite a few incoming leads every month, just need to go through them and get orders.
Apart from that I'm trying to start outbound cold calling/messaging/visits as well, but haven't had much time for that. Just the inbound stuff keeps us busy enough. And our work brings us referrals from happy customers.
Nothing sells stuff better than good work that's memorable, and the customer's word of mouth. We are the market leaders in our area for certain things. But getting there took us a long time too ofc. Literally 20+ years of work.

Nice, how do you get the consistent inbound leads?

Let me know if you require any support or if you have any opportunity as freelancing you can reach out to me on sohailpatel64.60@gmail.com

Great journey. Feels like you have experienced a lifetime of experiences in a short period of time. I work in the embedded hardware domain. Let me know if I can be of any help in your journey.

It does feel like i aged fast or grew up early haha.
