Hope your question is honest. So replying accordingly. There are two types of skills: Timely skills and timeless skills. Timely skill is like knowing Python or ML in 2010-15 period when very few knew it. Timeless skills are like soft skills, domain knowledge, core business knowledge. Core business knowledge may involve understanding KRI/KPI to understanding what will happen to the future. If you feel that's not a skill, I can't help
Offtopic career advice.
I am just starting my career right now, working as an Engineer but I was looking for PM roles in the future, as code does not feel that exciting to me 😅
But with the rise of AI and the risk of jobs getting wiped out, which one is a safer bet?
I guess Engineering will stay longer than PMs?
Or is there any other field you would suggest? Was also thinking to do an MBA after one or two years work ex
@Tr0jan Look, Product is here to stay. But like any hot field, it is time that Product orgs will mature and have predictable hiring over the massive boom we saw before.
You should do things basis the intrinsic curiosity you have for the craft.
Also, asking “What to do?” Questions is not the right way to ask an advice. Maybe, Why and How questions are better.
