Hi,
I have been thinking about a product which would allow an individual to ‘buy’ someones time for variety of use-cases like;
- Listen to my rant.
- Go to shopping with me.
- Play a sport with me.
- Brainstorm something.
- Go cycling / walk with me.
… many more. Essentially, everything under roof where we feel the need of a human but fail to have access to their time.
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
There already exists a person I believe in Japan or Korea(not sure), who decided to make a career out of it. People hired him for all sorts of work like say, be their +1 in a wedding, date, shopping, going out and spending time etc.
Your idea does look similar, but it isn't nearly as fun to be with a person unless you trust them and trust that they are non judgemental and want to genuinely spend time with you. Atleast, that's my opinion. So, I personally still feel, it's better to find a person with whom you are comfortable and the person wants to spend time with you. It would really enrich your life. Although, if that seems far-fetched, this idea still looks fun, Just when you buy someone's time, do make sure you do your due diligence
It's not just a person, this industry is thriving outside India. But India is contextually and culturally different.
It could work, but it's an uphill battle to change perceptions and behaviours in society.
Thanks. +1 to having someone known, but the problem is the access to people and time. Maybe ‘anyone’ can help the needy.
Imagine situations where you started to open up before people you just met. It is just one example. I believe, for lonely folks, all that matters is a human.
You need a relationship not an app.
You're gonna have to impose heavy moderation on this app, otherwise people will use it for hookups and new joinees will only see that kind of stuff, making them lose interest and leave eventually. This may turn into a prostitution thing very soon as people buy time if it's not well monitored.
Not a bad idea. This is different from Craigslist but I’ve seen people posting for similar requirements on Craigslist. Indian Craigslist sucks btw, so maybe you can derive some inspiration from there.
