Explore Kuala Lumpur on a 5H layover?
I have a Malaysian Airlines flight with a ~5 hours layover on KLIA Terminal 1. Given that I have not explored the city, should I exit the airport? If yes, what should I do? Considering: - Not sure if they will automatically check-in my baggage to the second flight. - There are many things to do at KLIA as well: thecrowdedplanet.com/kuala-lumpur-layover-guide - I have already filled this form: http://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main and since I'm a first time visitor, I'd also need to enroll and verify my passport at manual counter.
5 hours is prolly too less to go out in my experience. Just explore the airport perhaps?
Yeah, I'd have to do that most probably. It would have been great if I could explore 1/2 places in the city though.
KL is as close to KLIA as BIAL is to Bangalore. KLIA is actually just off Sepang, an hour plus away from the hotspots in KL.
If you must, the most touristy thing to do it Petronas Towers. If you reach at a time where thats not possible hit the evening spots at Bukit Bintang to soak up the vibe.
Nothing else to do in that city in a short while.
The best thing to do is to go to the OldTown White Coffee at KLIA.
Order the following:
OldTown White Coffee (Hot)
Soft Boiled Omega Egg
Keya & Butter Toast (Double)

I had a 5-hour layover at KLIA terminal 1 a couple of weeks back as well. There's not much one can do. Too less a time to step out of the terminal sure to traffic. There's renovation in the duty free retail area. So literally a couple of shops are there. Can go to the lounge but they had this rule that one can stay for upto 2 hours only. After the lounge, hung out at the Starbucks.
