I transitioned from a data analyst to python and R developer in credit risk model development . Does that make me a Quant Developer? If not! how can I transition into that?

I have 5 year experience as qa and then 5 years gap. Now I joined as a QA but I not liking it and wanted to transition to Data science or ML. But I not able to get the track from where I should start. Whether I should join any course or I should learn by myself.
