How is GPT impacting tech hiring at your workplace?
Is you company hiring more AI engineers? Or Firing for basic roles that can be performed using AI?
How are you planning to deal with upcoming GPT-4/5 impact? I am on a testing version through a company license and this thing is scary good. I don’t see companies hiring the way they used to anymore when half the engineers/designers/product people + GPT can do the same job. Are you anxious? Planning to switch to a country with better safety nets? Move fields with less automation and stress?
Or not worried at all? :-)
Use it more to get a better sense of where it works and where it doesn't. At least a week or two. I'm using GPT4 as well. It does make mistakes without context. Later models miggt get way better
I hated copilot for some reason.. But gpt fits neatly into my workflow now... Writes tests, fixes my buggy code amazingly well.
I dream of going solo and working on my own ideas independently. That seems like a pretty good option right now. I have an army of robots to command after all.. Until they take over that is.
Do you think roles that have heavy customer engagement - customer succes/sales/ business development will too be affected by chatgpt?
Wait and watch to see how the impact pans out in the next 2 years or so. I hope I'll be able to continue with my writing profile until then.

Everyday I open youtube/grapevine/teamblind its has keywords AI + Shocked or it will replace our jobs.
My take on why AI might not replace our jobs.
AI is unlike any other past technology revolution. It is going to make cost of intelligence trending toward zero.
Going by exponential curve of AI growth, in next 3-4 years, we are going to have an AI model which can code better than...
I feel at the pace AI is advancing, most of us will be unemployed. The uncertainty is making me anxious, any help appreciated :)
