DevOps or Sde

I got hired at a startup for Backend engineer Intern but I switched to DevOps as an Intern there Now I don’t find the profile that Interesting maybe because DevOps is paid less money to be honest I feel like I should switch back to backend but it’s now 1 year from there today I am a bit confused what should I do ? If anyone has faced similar thing can you please guide me !

**Having hands on development knowledge always helps. Doesn't matter which specialisation you choose in your career afterwards.
**Also it's easier to find opportunities for an SDE(ignore the recession and market conditions if you're willing to start preparing for SDE roles. Beleive me you'll get offers just have patience and prepare well). This is solely my opinion. I'll put pressure to one point, i.e. you can start preparing for SDE roles anytime in your life.

Switch from DevOps to Dev

I have about 3 years of experience in DevOps. I want to know how easy it is to switch to a dev role? My main concern being the culture of devops work and the pay gap. Devops roles don't pay as much. Any advices? TIA
