Annual CTC

I joined my company couple of months back. I’m 2023 passout and previously i had an intern experience at a startup, i gave interview of SAP Labs because i was not sure of my PPO. In the HR round of SAP Labs HR asked me about the salary I’m expecting at SAP, i told her “X” and after getting that number she told me she would get back to me after discussing it with manager, but after couple of days she offered me “T” which was way less than “X” . I knew she was tryna low ball me but as i did not had any other offer in my hand, I had to accept it. But with the salary that I’m getting (ik it is less than my peers) i just don’t feel like giving my full at my work it just demotivates me, should i talk to my manager about this? because while joining my manager thought i joined at “X” ctc but I never revealed this, also i do not have an idea what exactly should i convey to my manager. Please help me out

You got a job being a fresher in this market is in itself an achievement. Kudos to that. As for the low salary, you can let your manager know about this issue during the time of performance evaluation or appraisal. He/she can negotiate with HR but being a fresher, I would suggest give yourself the opportunity to learn and absorb as much as you can. Once experienced, there is a certain level of expectation anyone will have from you. So not much of leeway you can get. If current company doesn't give you the raise, you can look outside for the opportunity. Just imagine, if neither you put in the work to learn during your first year nor does the company give you a raise, how will you ever score a job outside without required skillset?

In your next 1:1 with your manager, clearly explain your situation, expectations and why you deserve that paycheck. Ask your manager if the remuneration can be revised. Meanwhile keep looking out for suitable roles. Once you have an offer in hand, try negotiating with your current employer. If nothing works, either wait for the next appraisal raise or switch. For the future don't accept less pay if it's not imperative to join

Yeah i know it’s not acceptable to join with the less pay but the situation was something that i did not had any other offers in my hand and the market that we have is uncertain,especially for freshers .

Yes not now, but say like in next appraisal you want to be around the same range.
