Did you ever want to join the Indian Army ?
I gave CDS exams, but failed in physical because of a past injury.
were you interested in joining the Indian army, if no/yes, why ?
or did you change your mind because of any reason?

I wanted to become a fighter pilot in IAF.
Cleared afcat and CDS after engineering.
5 ssb calls including 2 IAF calls.
But then my mom came to know about the work details and risk involved through Nani.
She asked me to withdraw from ssbs and focus on something safe as she didn't want me to lose. (Nani also shown her rang de basanti )
Fast forward, i Don't have regret for the same.
No hate towards anyone. I respect those who are serving our mother nation. But feels bad when I see no politician or celebrity send his/her son daughter in defence forces.
But whenever I see something flying above 30k feet, I use my flight radar premium to follow that!
Recently, met with lots of Israelis at goa and I think India should also have something like that for all.
You managed to get 5 ssb calls hidden till your mother found out? What happened?
Unfortunately, conscription for all is BS.
We are population surplus :)
The Israelis are here for cheaper ( unemployment benefit money to travel cheap SE Asia) recreational activities after enduring/inflicting traumas, met one such French/Israeli guy in Tosh. They are never ever going back to 'Normal life'.
Also Ind govt introduced agniveer for the budgetary reasons so that they can reduce so many pensioners/ subsidized facilities past short service commission years.
I did. I come from a defence family, and would have been the 4th gen going to Indian Army. Cleared CDS and while preparing for SSB to go to IMA I faced a family crisis/disaster.
Spend a few years lost in the crowd trying to figure myself out, and decided to move away from it eventually, ending up with an MBA instead. In hindsight a few times a year I still regret but I have made peace with it and moved on.
Btw, something my friend (another fauji brat) & I had also considered was joining French Foreign Legion after coming across the story of Cary Bheemaiah (look him up). Again, couldn't really entertain the idea of picking up arms for another country. Anyhow, that's that. Maybe you give it a shot
:)
I can understand
I wanted to, but colour blindness stopped me.
