Avoid therapists. The most unintelligent people become therapists in India. They copy the latest trends from the west. If they prescribe opiods, these people will. If they claim opiods are dangerous, these people will flip the next day. Brainless wonders. Unless you were born with a genetic flaw. Even in that case therapists are useless.

therapists shouldnt be prescribing meds. Only psychiatrists. Dont EVER take meds from a therapist, and if they are prescribing they are a quack

Meds prescribed by psychiatrists don't make them holy. All of the mind altering medicines prescribed by them do more damage than help the patient in the medium term. The culture that lead to drug crisis the West. There is just plenty of literature around the effects of the drugs they prescribe in the medium to long term.

I don’t know if it helps. I went through 2 therapists last year. One I didn’t see much change with, the next one pissed me off a lot. But this pissing me off thing worked because it made me angry about paying a shit ton of money to some people to just be told off. Since, then I have been actively working on my issues, reading psych (to find what will work best for me) and practicing meditation. The latter three have helped ALOT

There are few things that are required. Therapist are also normal people, so it is important to find the right therapist, it may need discovery sessions with multiple therapist before finalising the one. Next is be sincere about it. The impact of therapy sessions is not during the session but essentially in the time between the therapy session where the person self reflects, if you are ready to put in that kind of effort and time, it will definitely be helpful.

I close friend of mine, it helped her tremendously. Of course, she also wanted to work on it and her psychologist was quite good as well.
So yes.
