Don't do a PhD!

I am a researcher who recently completed PhD from state University and have started applying for academic positions in Bangalore. I regret doing a PhD. Tye pay that they are offering to non IIM/IIT phd is 10-11LPA only. This sucks. I put in 5 years beyond masters to jest get this? I have good publications, I have good teaching skills. But this pay? I would never suggest anyone to do a PhD in India. This is disheartening, humiliating and discrediting.

Try applying to MAANG companies(assuming you did a technical PhD). They usually have a Research division and probably value your PhD more. Feeling sorry that your research work isn't recognised. Good luck 🤞

Well don’t be disheartened. You will start in ML side, and with a bit of experience you will be a rocket ship. Researchers with solid mathematical background are being paid in gold these days. Plus with 6-7 years of experience in certain domains you can start your firm and make even more.

I am a Human Resource researcher. I don't think companies hire such profiles. I might be wrong.
