Dukaan laid off people; and people are mad about getting job
Came across tweet guy asking for frontend job to Dukaan’s CTO who fired his support and tech team just last month, and here is this guy and many others asking him for Job.
Ecommerce platform Dukaan has just laid off 60 people. Sudden move on Monday.
Is the platform struggling to get users and monetise? so much funding they have.
Seeing the tweets from their management team, i used to think they are such sorted company, they know what they are doing and treat their employees well and care for their learning/growth. I guess everything is just marketing in the end.
Had a friend working there who left before the layoffs... He was quite critical of the company and specially the CTO. Used to say CTO is an average coder with God complex. Zero medium-long term planning. It's all bark, no bite. Not surprised about this news. All the best to those affected
Yeah..this is correct. I had done an internship there. The CTO only knows how to talk on podcasts and Twitter, and he is a terrible coder. Most of the tech people who are active on Twitter and bad coders.
what the hell??!! Recently came across the podcast of Dukaan's CTO. Dude was pretty chill and the work culture and everything from the looks of his tweets seem to be pretty great. Like, revolutionizing Tech and everything. Dude looks are deceptive!!!!!
It’s called pulling off a deceptive facade.
Everything you said is still true. Zero, littrally zero from product or engineering were part of this.
Its a shift in business where we will be focusing more on larger D2C brands and enterprises rather than small sellers and with that few teams had to go.
While its emotional, at the end of the day its business.

No idea about the full extent of layoffs, seems like either a PR play to tackle leaked layoff news or doing the whole airbnb style 'helping employee...
One of my friend works there. Told tech is going to be majorly affected. It will happen this week
Their CEO is pretty mouthful on twitter shows that the leadership works with zero empathy.
