Start SIP

I want to start investing 2000 monthly in a SIP, what would be your suggestion? Where I can invest ? And which app is best?

Recommend Aggressive or moderate risk appetite.

Hi guys A finance noob here. Recently, I saw a lot of videos about Step up SIP and I agree with the point that after every raise you should increase your investments, but I tried a few calculators and didn't find that step up system increased my profits insanely in any way. E.g. 7000 monthly SIP for 10 Yr at 12% Return Invested amount = 8.4 L Estimated Return= 7.8 L Total = 16.26 L 7000 monthly + 10% step for 10 Yr at 12% Return Invested amount= 13.38 L Estimated Return = 10.2 L Total = 23.6 L Here I am paying approx 5 L more and the benefit is around 7 L more (out of which 5L is from my pocket), so 2L benefit. Can someone please explain why this step up is so hyped as of now? Or what did I miss?

Hey folks, I'm a recent graduate, got a job at a startup and the base will be <15, >10. Shifted to Bangalore (more like returning after 6 years, lived for 4 years before that). Since I'll be starting my full time journey soon, I want to know how you guys split your take home salary into needs, wants, luxury, savings, investing etc. Currently, I'm in a rented flat in HSR (my split is 7k) and will rent out/buy some home appliances. Food would be around 10k a month (no maid, all outside). I just want to know your experiences on spending and handling money. Not that I'm bad at it, but this is the start of my journey and I would like to know how other people manage their money, so I'd know if I have to tweak some things. Do tell any strict DOs/DONTs, common mistakes.

Hi folks I'm a 21 year old, investing 1000 each into 35 mutual funds Taking my SIP to 35k per month Just to set the context, apart from this, I'm passively investing into ipo's and stocks as well for the long term. I've read at a lot of places that investing in more than 10 mutual funds is a foolish choice, because most of your stocks are going to be overlapping. But I don't understand why it's called foolish? There can't be a 100% overlap of portfolio between any 2 mutual fund houses, there is always going to be a significant difference, which adds to the risk diversification any which ways, because my money is spread across multiple set of stocks and across different fund manager brains as well, for e.g. one might sell some of my stock at a high or a low, while other might not. My diversification is - 45% small cap 25% mid cap 10% large cap Rest growth or sectoral I'm open for any feedback/criticism or suggestions even.

What's the safest way of investing your money? I have tried the stock market but it's risky. Is investing in gold a better alternative?

Did you know that if you start with investing 90K INR Each Month and step up your sip with 10% every 2 years, assuming 12% returns You’d have over 30CR in 2040? Now obviously you can consider inflation but still if you take out 4% of 30CR each year you would have 1.2CR Each Year i.e. ~10 Lakhs INR every month! Like what even lol.. Is there a catch for this ?

So I started working full time for 10/2022 but I had some family responsibility so I just focused on saving as much cash as I could, now that that work is done (still have to pay some money back to people) I want to start investment at least 10k per month Can someone please guide me where to start.

Hi, I have recently graduated and now I'm going to start my career as a software developer. Can you suggest me with resources for managing finances along with taxes and how to do investments or guide me how I can manage my expenses by giving some tips? My base is around 14Lpa. My rent is around 25kpm. And monthly necessary expenditure of around 15kpm. I am not that well-versed with taxes also. I'm learning about them. Currently I invest 3k in MF every month. I’ll go first. 1. What kind of investor are you? I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers. 2. Where’s the majority of your investment portfolio ? I have three RE investments and one of them has loan. And I’m planning to buy a property in Goa or HP. 3. What’s your monthly investment breakdown? 1.7L/ Month (approx) 60k - SIP (mutual funds) 60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here. 4. Anything else you want to share? I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.
