Best post on handling money
I know many of folks will say save and all and I do agree but don’t miss out on the joys of life. Save and have fun. At least that’s why you are busting your ass working insane hours, or under a dumb/arrogant/shitty boss or in a shitty company or in a demanding role.
The only blanket assumption here is - “updating materialistic things” add to the joy.
Everyone has a different definition, some people find joy in passing wealth to next gens, others find it in donating.
There’s a fundamental difference between how west (or blind) thinks of money against how we (specifically middle class Indians) think about it. I will give an interesting case : Western formula of % Equity allocation = 100 - Age isn’t valid for India. Here, allocations can be passed to generations and compounding benefits can be derived very well.
Mostly it talks about experiences except for the last paragraph.
I do agree that diff people find joys in diff things but I tend to agree with this post. Cheers
