Transition to PM role🧐
I am a Software Engineer(3-YOE) and want to transition to Product Management role.
Does the ISB PM certifications help us in any form for that or regular MBA is required to get the role.
I am Enginnering Manager with 9 years of work ex. I have opportunity in same company to love to Product Management role. People working as PM with good work ex and engineering background, how are you finding the role ? P.S. I love working in technology and still do lot of Hands on. Could you please tell me pros and cons of this transition.
Please stay as an engineering manager. Better pay and demand for engg managers compared to PMs
Engg Manager with sound Product sense is always going to have more impact as compared to a PM or SPM at any org. However, if you are interested in getting into a more strategic role towards the later part of your career, then may be you can consider transition to PM now & grow up to become a VP or director of Product.
I have seen some of our EM eventually getting into Product leadership roles & actually doing wonders.

I see a lot of product managers come from an engineering background. They have worked for a few years as an engineer before making the transition. I want to understand the factors that led to the to make the switch.
