Exactly 1 year ago, I joined Grapevine. Some thoughts and musings.

Last week, I was wondering how long has it been for me since I joined Grapevine. Scrolling through OTPs, I realized that the first time I "may" have joined the app is exactly one year ago since today.

It has been a hell of a ride. I have had insane conversations with some of the best minds in this country. It also made me appreciate how the same people who will be discussing Finance in one post also end up talking about Nietzsche in another post.

I have always felt that we all have great stories to share in our lives. Grapevine has always been a place where smart people in this country have contributed to the collective knowledge here.

Lastly, there are always a ton of gloomy folks around you, they are doomsayers. That is always because people in general are more optimistic about their future and that remains a mainstream emotion. Which means that the cost of being wrong is low and the praise for being right is high when you are negative all the time as it is a contrarian take.

But let me tell you the most important thing, India is becoming big. No matter what may come our way. People will crib about things as they should, but don't let that deter you from building in India and staying in India. There is a ton of money to be made and you should aim to be on the right side of history.

Long time salt!

Am I missing some context here?

Like any reference for this post, something happened??

Not really. I have been talking to a ton of people and it appears that the rift between those who believe in India and those who don't has widened.

Some people are too gloomy while a minority is exuberant about what is about to come for this country.

I am just calling out the fact that whatever may come our way, as a country we are poised for greatness this century. Your grandchildren will read about this in the history books and wonder what their grandparents were doing at that time.

So this is just a call out to the non-believers. Because it is easy to be a naysayer in a world full of naysayers but optimists change the world.

I open the app for professional updates but just see too much of hate / self loathe towards India - current, past and future. People fail to see at the brink of what we stand today :) few decades late but at the gates finally

Everyone has a story to tell. All you need is a platform and some courage to share your thoughts. Grapevine does the first part perfectly well! :)

Congratulations on your first year! Many more to come. :)

Haha … that would have been great.
However, as long as I have been in GV, I have noticed that your comments feel like “namak” (exactly what GV community call you) because they aren’t necessarily BS and add something to the post (just like salt enhances the taste)…

Much appreciated Man!!

@Gems_Bond The pie is literally expanding and everyone stands to win. This is no longer the India which was a zero sum game, we have entered the positive sum game era now.

There is all to play for. The only thing stopping us is the effort.

Japan is betting a lot on India is what I read recently. And let’s say all the positive signs urge us to put more money in market to create that kind of wealth in future. But, past tells us that market is also vulnerable and we do not see positive signs in western world currently. And we already know how anything that happens in US creates impact in India within a short span or on a longer term. What I am saying is, Macroeconomics is tough to reason with. But as China had its moment to rise, India should surely have it too. I am worried though that if India does grow as predicted, it won’t be possible to live comfortably without ur salary or instruments grow with it.

That’s why you need to be on the right side of history.

Japan has been investing for well over last decade. Especially in SEZs and special economic corridors.

Love grapevine. This is the best community I have found to actually talk my heart out, it’s like grapevine and the people who are using grapevine have become my go-to people when it comes to sharing my life and career or anything.

I have been on grapevine for some months now and this is the best community building app I have ever seen I can talk my heart out and the people here actually come out to support and share their journey and experiences as well. Hats off ...

[Long Post] I think I understand why Grapevine works well.

It’s therapeutic because you can share different aspects of your life that you can’t talk about on other platforms. For instance, you can't criticize the Ola CEO on LinkedIn, demand justice for the Kolkata rape case on Twitter without ge...
