Executive MBA Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to enroll in a part-time (weekend/evening) executive MBA program at an IIM or similar institution. I need advice on the following:

  1. Which program/institute would be most beneficial for personal branding, networking, career and monetary growth, and learning business fundamentals with an eye toward future business ownership?

  2. Specifically, which is the better choice: IIM-A (fully online), IIM Indore (part-time in Mumbai), or IIM Kozhikode (video learning from most cities)? Please evaluate based on education quality and degree value.

  3. How can an executive MBA positively impact my career and what career paths might it open?

About me:

  • Experience: 5 years
  • Current Role: Senior Software Engineer in Banking org
  • Previous Experience: Tech Risk Consulting in Big 4 (non-coding, role that MBA folks work in)
  • Future Goals: Managerial role in Big Tech with active coding, business ownership

I would appreciate any insights or connections that could help.

Thank you!

If you are looking for an active coding role in big tech 1. Big tech don’t really look for executive mba
2. In my experience executive mba has worked for folks in traditional companies which have traditional growth paths. Companies where an mba is required for promotion into a certain role
3. ISB 1 year MBA is probably better

But it’s my experience. There could be exceptions.

ISB's exec program cost is more than double that of IIM's. Can you pls help in sharing your inputs on how isb would be better (tangible / intangible)? Or if you know people who have completed exec programs from either of these institutes
