Exits after consulting?
Hey guys, I've been working in top tier consulting firm for a year and I'm just bored of making decks. What exit opportunities exist for me?
Hey @ShySender98 ,
Would you mind answering AMA. Curious to know what consulting at big 3 is all about and how one can get into it and various other questions
Don't consider myself any sort of an expert. But happy to help you
Thank you. Here are my questions-
- What are skills required for consulting at big 3?
- How do we decide whether it's a career we should pursue?
- What made you choose a consulting career?
- What are pros/cons of the work?
- Do you get to travel a lot?
- Do you get to bond/talk to lot of influential people?
- Work life balance?
- Would you recommend it to someone?
- Who's the type of person who should never apply for such a role?
Currently startups are not hiring much, so stick around. Big corporates won’t match consulting salaries.
Makes sense. Thanks for this :)
Are most consulting work boring or its just the case with you.
Thanks to Grapevine, we are getting this honest feedback 💎
Boring as fuck. No skin in the game
but that pedigree will open doors for u right compare to a normal person like me sde ok ok person
Not interested in trying other consulting firms?
Honestly, I am happy with the firm and its culture. But lately, Ive started to feel that the work is not meaningful and monotonous
If the culture is good (which is rare to find now-a-days), try to stick to your company for 3-4 more months till the dust of layoffs settle and ask for work in different domain. After that you can switch to any business strategy role in any startup which you think have a great product idea and be interesting to scale up.
