[Discussion] Should Current Salary be disclosed?

In India, can we discuss our salary, compensation plan with our colleague? Is there any generic policy for the same in India location?

My offer (from a FAANG company) has been deferred to January 2024. I don't know what to do now: 1) I have another job offer (~8 LPA), but that job requires me to serve notice period of 2-3 months 2) A startup's founder rejected me, saying he wanted someone for long term (he thought I'll leave next January) Should I try for full time jobs? Many companies become unwilling to take me in, presuming that I will leave in January 2024. Or should I look for internships (even though I have graduated)? Getting an internship won't help mitigate the risk of not having a fulltime job offer after graduation though.

Currently in talks with the CEO of a small international startup (less than 10 total members spread across 4 countries). My existing profile is an exact match for what they are looking for in a candidate (they are implementation partners of my existing company's software). I am pretty close to closing it but now he wishes to know my existing salary. I tried to avoid sharing it but he wants to know it before quoting anything to me. I wish to get a huge raise (80-100%) since i will be moving from a known brand to an unknown startup with all the skills they need and more from Day 1. Any tips on how I can handle this situation?

Do you discuss it openly? Or is it the same old "it's confidential, don't discuss the salary with anyone"?

In general HR's say we shouldn't discuss our salaries with our colleagues and at the same time they allow your manager to discuss the salary during appraisal. A manager should only be allowed to tell %age increase, not the actual salary. As a manager, would you share your salary with your reportee ? If not, why should you know their salary? Either make salaries transparent, everyone knows each other's salary or nobody should know anyone's salary except HR.

What can be the consequences of showing Forged offer letter. Like I have got offer 0f 24LPA from Company A. Now company B offers me same I want to join B, whatif I edit 24 of A to 28 LPA, show that to B and ask them match it. I don't think B will contact A to confirm it, BgV also concerns previous employers.. So is there any risk???

I decided to join a company and signed their nda. Then 2 days later they showed me offer letter. I didnt agree with offer letter and decided not to join and not to sign the offer letter. So I wanted to know that in this case, does the NDA have any stand?

Guys, I have 8 years of IT experience out of which , 2.5 in azure. I got a call from Capegemni HR , saying there's an azure opening, asked for my current and expected CTC. I said the current is 7 LPA and expected is 20 LPA. It's a hybrid role with 3 days working from the office. She said it is not possible, Max they can give is 10-13. I am in Kerala,and have a baby under 1. I have to relocate if I get it. I don't think it is fair salary. Is it ok if we don't tell when they're asking for our current salary based on which they will give max 100% if we perform exceptionally in the interview. Or how can I deal this? Thanks in advance.

I have been managing teams for multiple organisations for quite a few years. It saddens me to see most of the organisations trying to exploit employees by paying inadequate compensation. Gender pay gap exists for real. I want to file a PIL and maybe get a law passed to ensure all employees are paid fairly. Can someone help me get in touch with a good lawyer who can help me file a PIL?
