Indian govt portals hacked by China

EPFO website compromised. Ministry emails compromised. Govt trying to deny and cover up but data is available on dark web. Pathetic infosec practices by BJP govt, just horrendous mismanagement one after the other. Best part is, if any Indian ethical hacker even tries to approach the govt, they mostly just ignore. No bounty for figuring out and exposing vulnerabilities either. Clueless shitheads are putting the entire country at risk with their bad practices and lack of recognition and rewards for Indian white hat community.

Yes , they messed it up Can be much better But IT is not a zero sum game If there was no temple - this wouldn’t have occurred ? What does it have to do with temple ? Temple or no temple - this can still be taken care of .

If you ever deal with the GSTN, they don't even have their own email server. Everyone operates off a gmail id. This is for an entity that is 40% of the government's earning source.

This is what grinds my gears the most. They can't even afford Google workspace accounts? Really? Do they even know Google straight up deleted data from gmail accounts? I doubt they do

To be fair, we've come a long long way in putting our house in order. It used to be absolutely terrible across government departments. There are still a ways to go. But a huge revamp has been done especially on end point security.

Babu log ko samaj hi nahi aata ye sab, upar tak toh matter hi nahi pauchta, Personal anecdote: family member is assistant commissioner in state govt tax department, he downloads and watch online telegram movies/ shit in main device, if someone targents him specifically the attacker can score lots of sensitive information, as it's fairly widespread skill to get access of camera and storage in illicit manner. One thing leads to other, it's always the Swiss cheese model at work in these cases. Lacking Awareness/Education is main culprit imo.
