Ben Thompson on the Google remedy:
"I think the answer to the remedy question is an injunction against Google making any sort of payments or revenue share for search; if you’re a monopoly you don’t get to extend your advantage with contracts, period"
The only people this hurts is Mozilla and apple. And it helps Google saving $30B annually.
The bigger story from this case was judge dismissing the part where doj accused Google of stalling on Microsoft ads integration, with the line being “even a monopoly has no obligation to deal with rivals on their own terms.”
