Feeling dumb after switching

This aint about tech but I’m switching. As this is my first switch, a large part of my professional life was spent with good colleagues who were also freshers like me and they were god-sent. Even my seniors were great and I never felt that superior-inferior things. Now that I’m switching, I’m just feeling all alone again. I stay with friends but I’m not feeling good about how it goes in the new organisation. Can someone please give pointers on how I should be in new office so I don’t end up alone?

Hi, guys. I just switched to a new role (UX Writing) and its been 14-15 days. I am getting major work FOMO here. Here are two things I am feeling, help me navigate through this? 1. I am not aligned to a project/account yet. Feeling a bit restless, I feel like reaching out to seniors and teammates and I do. Yet, there’s little clarity on how I will be resourceful to the entire set up. 2. Brushing up on my skills until formal tasks are allocated to me. However, I learn more on the job, rather than through training. How to make most of the time and resources available? 3. I am not sure if I am overthinking this, but I feel like my role isn’t as well-etched as I first thought it would be.

Long post ahead!!! Its been around a year since I've started working in a service based company as a Frontend dev, WLB, compensation and all is good based on I've just started. During this year of working I do not feel like I've done anything, our team is working on a product for past 2-3 year and its nearing the completion. My role was mostly to cordinate with testing team and solve frontend bugs and minor addition to the project (which was mostly copy pasting), even doing these minor task took me some time initially and I still have to take help from seniors time to time. I got kinda bored with all the repetitive task and I requested my manager to assign me to other development happening within team, he agreed and assigned me some different task but I cant seem to understand anything here, I get stuck in the most basic things, I feel stupid when I am not able to come up with easy solutions. I am seeing other engineers learning new tech stacks in a small amount of time and getting hold of it while i am not able to understand things in my own tech stack. I've recently gotten a appraisal as well(my company is quite good and gives it to everyone) and I feel like I don't deserve a bit of it. I am a 2023 graduate , I did MCA because that was the only good option I could see for myself(mostly cz of money) at that time earlier to that I did a bachelor's (Non CS) without gaining any knowledge of anything. My basics are not that good, In college my only focus was to get a job so I did DSA and some front-end development using ReactJS(projects mostly code along with ytube) to be able to grab a good placement. Is software engineering not for me? If no, then how do I overcome this, i don't wanna be a mediocre.

Recently joined a company.We majorly work in c and c++ . It has been a few months since I joined the company but it feels like I haven't really learnt anything new nor am I contributing majorly in any way . In this time span I have rarely coded and it feels like it is affecting my career deeply, especially being a fresher in this domain.I want to know the possible ways to tackle this situation and what else that you guys recommend.

When I joined my previous company there was this overwhelming feeling that will I be able to thrive. Same feeling in the current company which I joined recently. In my previous company that fear/feeling led to me doing much better than thriving. Is impostor syndrome normal ? Why?

How did you guys feel when you made your first switch? I just resigned (first resignation), and it feels very bad. Staying would've slowed down my growth but this place has so many good people and good memories that it almost feels betrayal on my part. Maybe I'm overthinking it and this feeling dies down with more switches, but it sure as hell does not feel good.

Currently I am working in TCS with 6 years Experience. Actually I am badly feeling like I have not received any experience from TCS. In the project I was worked as Support role and one of the framework which most of the people don't know. Know I am planning to switch but I feeling like I don't know anything. Now I am learning Spring boot through external paid course. I have one question when I try to switch are they consider me as fresher, because I don't have hands on experience on spring boot.

I know a lot of people love working from home. But small rant here. Honestly, straight out of college I thought I would do too. But no, I absolutely do not. Why? 1. No personality development. It's honestly like an online college all over again (1/2 of my college "life" was online). I talk to a screen, waste a lot of time otherwise. 2. I don't have a room to call my own. I know this is going to make me sound like a privileged brat but I need my privacy to feel my full confident self. My family members are always on top of my head and spy on me during work. No they really do. 3. I hate, absolutely LOATHE approaching people on teams. I'm more social, confident and comfortable working in an offline setting be it presenting something or talking to senior folks in general. 4. I have NO life outside of the computer/home. My hobbies, interests everything are inside the tiny room I share with my parents. I still have 2 different desks (which are literally next to each other) for work and personal stuff respectively. When I had offline semesters, it was really awesome as I had balance. I graduated in 2023 and of course I have a lot to learn, but I'm seriously thinking about searching for another job that's not WFH. I'm still early career and I think I should not be working remote. Am I stupid?

So I come from a very traditional company to a startup and when I’m in a meeting with seniors and directors, a lot of what they’re talking about goes right over my head. I have a hard time just keeping up with the pace that they’re going. Lots of it involves domain knowledge but some of them have only been hired a couple months earlier than me and the gap is just ridiculous. Is this normal or am I fucked
