What do you viners think of the future of frontend development
I know AI will take care of most of it but want to see some specific takes on what can be frontend in the future. Trying to make a case study here.
What future do you see of front end developers in next 5 years ?
silly and hypothetical question ,yes i know.
Can you elaborate?
with the coming of AI and tech changing day by day
what makes someone optimistic about this field? not just in terms of tech but also how the job situations will change ?
Work on tech that takes time to learn, learn about UX and Design Psychology, go deeper not into frameworks but how the entire tech facilitates the Frontend dev. GenAI can build you working template of your FE, add styles, buttons etc, which even takes a good FE not more than a few mins to an hour(if design is handy).
It can't optimize for User Interaction, latency with BE, memory management, authentication flows and session state management. That's what you should get your hands in
The opportunities will decrease because AI would do the grunt work. But the quality of work will drastically increase.
All you can do is upskill.
Do you think we will be obsolete in the next 5 years? Why do you think that won't be the case for backend devs?
Building basic apps might be replaced.
I have worked in a sophisticated and complex frontend driven product where the main selling point is UI/UX
Many enterprise products have bad UI/UX. Migrating and maintaining them will require good fronted devs.
Enterprise won't give ChatGPT access due to the leak of internal code into public.
Probably might help devs to move things faster in certain aspects. But not completely replace them. Where will the government get tax and run the country if no one has a job.
Policies and politics comes first before ChatGPT replaces us.

I can see folks looking down on Frontend Engineering, why is it so? Is there a pay gap between frontend and backend.
Which are the best non-coding jobs presently which pay a good amount of salary and have wide opportunities in the market .
