What would you do if you got laid off from your job today?
The things you will take care of or do after the layoff
Orchid with 200 trees, 40y old.
Will sleep, soak sun and read(bucket list) here after Layoffs.
What's your layoff scene? R u afraid 😳
Stay strong and keep a back up :D
Step 1. Downsizing — Moving from HSR to BTM. Cutting costs by half. Moving from a high rise 3BHK to a reasonable 2BHK. No maintenance of a shitty society any more. No more excesses.
Step 2. Acquiring Equity — Now is the best time to bank on early stage startups. They need help and have only equity to sell. Identify opportunities. Help in anyway you can. It pays in the long run. I banked on crypto. Now I’m banking on AI. And always on the lookout for the next big thing. Keep an eye on product hunt.
Step 3. Practice Philosophy of curiosity — Read up history. The great minds. Explore your existence. Contemplate your purpose. Read up freud. Read up about the great empires. I mostly ignored Indian history because i was forced fed religion in my childhood. Picking it up again! Our ancestors and their rich heritage is something we should be aware about even if they were psychedelic hippies or religious fanatics. We need to know where we came from.
And practice mindfulness! and You should be fine!
Nothing can hurt us if we choose not to.
Damn... 💯 True.
Explain more about ur fed up religion in childhood??
U married?
Not married. Staying with my gf & a demon cat for entertainment.
Firstly, i love my family. Wouldn’t change a thing about them. Despite religion, they are the best people on this planet.
Childhood was all about worshipping all Indian gods and then moved to god men & women. Every 5 years, we would find a new godman that basically said the lost godman didn’t know shit. Buy these new expensive rings, stones, pay for puja, hang a gold plated Krishna painting at home, and a lot lot more of this. And when i would raise the issue that we are repeating this again and again, they dismissed me.
And i expected this of all the oldies in my family but even my brothers and 3 cousins, all just follow things as they’re told who are super accomplished in their fields.
So i’m the only one questions things. And that’s super isolating for a kid. And this continued till i remained in delhi. And constant fights. Mismatch of ideologies. And when you know you’re right, it becomes impossible to just see my entire family wasting money on frauds.
Before every exam I had to keep my pen, my books in front of the local mandir. My parents paid up like 1000-10000 bucks on pujas so that i do well in exams. And there premise was that even if i study hard and do well, all credit goes to god.
So that’s demoralising and now i’ve grown out of it. But it’s the same story for a lot of people, and thanks to the internet, mostly reddit, i don’t feel isolated anymore.

I got laid off in Jan. Took 4 months to land a job finally and joined a new company in May. This new company seems to be silently laying off people now in the name of cost cutting and likely be trying to raise next round of funding altho...
It’s a question that many men want to discuss but can’t in the open. How do the costs of life split between you and your partner? If you’re both making the same money, is it 50-50? Or do you each handle certain categories of expenses wit...
